Mindfulness + Meditation

Curious to explore what mindfulness is? Interested in starting or deepening a meditation practice? Jamie can work with you 1-1 or with a small group to support your exploration and practice. Rather than a packaged curriculum, sessions are very much designed for and driven by your interests and needs, meeting you where you're at.


Examples of common elements include:


  • Understanding you and your experiences thus far, what is driving your interest in mindfulness or meditation, and what concerns you might have

  • Learning more about what mindfulness or meditation is, and what it isn't! (hint: you don't have to float on a cloud or "empty" your mind)

  • Developing essential mindfulness skills to aid you to be within your window of tolerance as you practice (and to identify when you might need to step back)

  • Modifications to offer more than one way to engage with a practice

  • Exploration of various practices (did you know there is not just one way to be mindful or to meditate? There are multitudes...)

  • Information about the basic neuroscience and psychology of mindfulness

  • Peer-oriented support as questions and challenges arise in your practice

  • Resource shares - guidance, books, teachers, practices, apps, and more to inspire and deepen your ongoing learning and practice

  • Homework (yes...) - after all, a practice only develops when we...practice!

  • Oh and some humor and levity...

Jamie completed meditation teacher training in 2019, and is additionally a Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness practitioner. She has been a volunteer meditation facilitator in a variety of settings, and engages in ongoing learning and practice as both a student and a teacher. She enjoys combining her personal and teaching experiences to support those interested in engaging with their own practice. Developing mindfulness skills and a regular meditation practice over many years have impacted Jamie in myriad ways. Significantly, she credits mindfulness as being one of the foundational building blocks in her mental wellness and trauma healing journey, supporting her to navigate the world in closer alignment with her core values, and empowering her to be in relationship with others in healthier ways.
